Ability to compare 2 objects using XPath

Post by Nadeem » Mon Jul 18, 2011 4:15 pm

Is there any way of comparing the Ranorex XPath of 2 objects. At the moment i am having to copy and paste the path into a different application in order to see the path of these objects. Reason why i have to do is i am trying to automate our app which uses Telerik controls in both IE8 and FF 3.6.16. It's a hassle cos the same object has a slightly different path in Ranorex. In order to generalise the path and locate the object i have to find out where to change them in order to make the path more generic across both browsers. Its a hassle.

I am new to Ranorex so more than likely, maybe i missing something here? If not, Ranorex Team, is there any chance of a new feature which would allow you to compare the XPath of 2 objects (one can be in IE, the other in FF as an example) and highlight the difference.

Hi,

I'm sorry but for now there is no possibility to do this with Ranorex.
I've just added a feature request to our list.

Kind regards,
Tobias
