Can we edit item repository from our own program?

Post by Shigeru » Wed Nov 28, 2012 5:51 am

We do not want to edit repository when screen design change a little bit.
If we can change item repository automatically, it will be great.

thanks

Hello,

Ranorex needs something unique in your application under test to identify UI elements.
This could be a unique identifier or a unique path.

There a some examples available how to make the RxPath for your repository items as flexible as possible. Please take a look at sections RanoreXPath and Adapting an Existing Repository in our User Guide.

Hello, Markus.

My wish is "We do not want to edit path manually. We want to edit path automatically from some other GUI tool."

We have own framework based on Flex.
We have own GUI tool to maintain screens.

Then, if we can edit repository items from the GUI tool, it will be great.

thanks

Hello,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to edit the RxPath of repository items from other GUI tools.
We will discuss this feature request with our developers.

In the meantime, please edit the RxPath in your repository by click on 'Edit...' button of the element in order change the path and apply the change in Spy.
