I am trying to connect to an iPad that I could connect to before using WiFi.
1. I verified they are on the same network
2. I had to manually configure the device because it wasn't found
a. Entered the device name and IP
b. tried to connect
3. The error returned is:
Last Error: Failed to connect to the device with host '<ip address>' and port '31000' Error. The operation has timed out
It has been a while since I have had to connect to this device and it worked like a charm before. Since the last time I connect the iPad was upgraded to iOS 7.
I am assuming this is not app specific since it cannot find the device.
The app hasn't changed, and was last built a over a year ago.
Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Cannot connect iOS device that I could before
Which version of Ranorex are you using?
Has anything in the network setup changed since the last time it worked? Even if they are on the same network, they could be on different subnets, different switches, etc. Without knowing your layout, it would be hard to diagnose.
Also, iOS 7 support was only added in 4.1.1, so if you are using a version older than that, you may not be able test with that configuration and it is possible that that is why you can't connect.

Re: Cannot connect iOS device that I could before
We are using Ranorex 4.1.4, and I don't think anything has changed with the network, I will get with the infrastructure people here to verify.
