Hey everyone, I am having the following issue:
I have a PC that is running Windows 10. I create a recording of events for an application. I then share that recording with another employee. That employee is running Windows 11. We are both using the same version of Ranorex. When the other employee starts running the recording module, everything seems to work fine until it reaches a "PlotArea" or "Split Container", and it can not find the elements.
Not sure why this is. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, just to confirm: not only the Ranorex version is the same, but also all the plugin settings in Studio are the same between you and your colleague, correct?

In Settings->Plugins, are all the choices (or at least the ones for the applicable technology of the app you are automating) the same between you and your colleague?
Also, after you have moved the solution to your colleague, do they see any difference in the repository paths for the elements the execution is struggling with? I.e. does RanorexPath change for SplitContainer?

Yes the repo paths are different. Not sure why. I even tried resetting my registry with no success.IvanF wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 3:45 pmIn Settings->Plugins, are all the choices (or at least the ones for the applicable technology of the app you are automating) the same between you and your colleague?

Re: Certain elements not found based on windows version.
If your colleague tries to re-do the path via Spy (or just copy-paste from your solution), does it work for execution?
Not sure why it would change, sorry, unless there was a refresh in Spy while the Studio/project had different robustness and/or plugin settings.

Yes if they recreate the action, it works for them. But when they send it back to me with their changes, it won't work for me.IvanF wrote: ↑Fri Dec 23, 2022 3:25 pmIf your colleague tries to re-do the path via Spy (or just copy-paste from your solution), does it work for execution?

Re: Certain elements not found based on windows version.
I see, the direct support ticket would be able to help better at this stage. You would need to submit the versions you mentioned in the opener + the plugin settings screenshots from both systems + the Ranorex snapshots from both systems (to check if/why Spy views the app under test differently).
