Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF)?

Post by chriscanossi » Thu Jul 04, 2013 10:20 am

I'm looking to automate test a CEF based embedded UI running on Windows OS'. CEF includes support to load NPAPI plugins, and so the question is can Ranorex be used with a CEF type UI?

Hello,

Unfortunately, we don't support Chromium Embedded Framework.
I will add your feature request into our internal bug-tracking system.

Without any kind of commitment, would it be possible to roughly estimate when Ranorex may add CEF support? Three months, six months, or a year or more? I realize this may be a very difficult question to answer, but if possible, it would be nice to know so I can keep this on the radar. Ranorex includes great deal of very useful functionality that would be nice to use.

Thanks.

Hello,

One of my colleagues found a workaround in order to enable the accessibility for chromium by enabling the "force-renderer-accessibility" flag in the Chrome browser.
Please read the post Unable to see inside chrome://memory-redirect in order to get more information how to do so.

It should also be possible to build your own application with the "force-renderer-accessibility" flag.
Please read the post CEF Application automation.

Regards,
Bernhard
