CI with Jenkin's on Linux server

Post by Guillaume GenInt » Mon Nov 17, 2014 11:26 am

Hi,

I work on a project with continuous integration with Jenkins on a Linux server. If I buy one node-locked license, can I integrate it in a linux server to work with Jenkins (and also have Ranorex tools on my computer with windows to records tests) ?

Thanks,

Guillaume

Hi,

Ranorex can be installed only on windows machines so your only hope is to install it on win-based Jenkins slave.

In addition to what Pavel said, a node-locked license can only be installed on one system, so even if you have a Jenkins slave on a system, you would only be able to use Ranorex on the system that has the license installed, in this case your computer.

If you want to run Ranorex tests on a computer other than the one you develop the tests on you will need to purchase at least one more license. It can be a run-time license (which comes as a floating license only) or a premium license.
