we are going to evaluate Ranorex for a potential customer, who wants to use Ranorex in a "Citrix-Session". Meaning both, the AUT and Ranorex will be installed on the server but controlled via the Citrx client.
Are there any known issues with such an environment or will this work just like a local installation of the AUT and Ranorex?

best regards,

As long as both Ranorex and the automated application are on the same machine, there are no known issues.

It could be, though, that a client session needs to be established for Ranorex to be able to detect GUI elements. That is the case if the host machine locks the desktop when the client disconnects, making the desktop inaccessible. Windows Remote Desktop does that, VNC does not - I'm not a Citrix expert, so I don't know if the Citrix host locks the desktop once the client disconnects. Do you know? :-)
