Clarity required on ExecuteScript, Ranorex 10.5.2, and Manifest V3
Re: Clarity required on ExecuteScript, Ranorex 10.5.2, and Manifest V3
If you could submit the ticket with all your details, that would be great for the completeness of info, but they are also already looking into solving executescript permissions.
Re: Clarity required on ExecuteScript, Ranorex 10.5.2, and Manifest V3
Any updates on this topic?
The old extension (1.3.1) has been removed from the chrome store already although the new one still does not support ExecuteScript..
It´s a pitty that Ranorex leaves its customers alone with this problem without giving proper advice how and when to migrate to the new extension..

And now the old extension is suddenly back ... good news as I also realized that dynamic scripts were not running when using the plugin version 1.4.0 !
And I've wasted hours to find that out ... for a software that is supposed to increase your productivity, it's hard to understand such an absence of communication, not talking about quality.

Any news on an update for 1.4.0?

Re: Clarity required on ExecuteScript, Ranorex 10.5.2, and Manifest V3
So for clarity... if I want to use the ExecuteScript feature/function, I MUST use Ranorex's Chrome extension 1.3.1 with 10.7.1 and I cannot update beyond this because Ranorex 10.7.2 or later will require 1.4.0 extension or later which uses v3 of Manifest AND therefore execute script will no longer work?
Does this mean you are NOT looking for a solution to continue supporting ExecuteScript?
As an aside, I currently have Ranorex 10.1.6 and the 1.3.1 extension installed and I'd like to install 10.7.1 to see if the last supported version of Ranorex will work for me. When I run the setup, if I choose to install everything, it installs v3 1.4.0 extension and my scripts do not work due to ExecuteScript calls. So I uninstalled 10.7.1, rebooted my system, and checked that 1.3.1 extension is still showing in Chrome extensions, reinstalled Ranorex 10.7.1 but chose to not install the plugins. So now I have the last supported version and the Chrome extension 1.3.1 in my browser, but I don't think the extension is working because I'm getting technology limitations error. How can I fix this? If I try the instrumentation wizard it uses 1.4.0 of the extension.... Help!

At the moment, yes.

There is a project planned for early next year to determine a Ranorex workaround for the executescript issue prior to Google deprecating V2 abilities.
For the installation disparity issue, your best bet would be to contact support for assistance.
