Hello, at the moment I am trying to setup a crossbrowser test. IE and Chrome are working fine but Firefox won't work. I updated firefox and ranorex to the latest versions [Firefox: 45.0.1] [Ranorex: 5.4.6]. I noticed at first that firefox disabled the plugin so I disabled firefox from checking the validity of the plugin by toggling the settng xpinstall.signatures.required.
After that when I look in the addons menu of firefox, it tells me that the ranorex automation plugin is incompatible with firefox 45.0.1 and kept the addon disabled. I also tried downgrading to firefox 40.0.3, but it showed the exact same problems.
I have tried to run my test every time I changed a setting and or installed a different version, but it always throws the exception: "An unhandled exception of type 'Ranorex.RanorexException' occurred in Ranorex.Core.dll" which leads me to think that it is having trouble using the plugin. I am at a loss and I was wondering if anyone could help me with this situation?
Kind regards,
Kevin

Re: Compatibility Firefox 45.0.1
Hi,
The title of disabled addon says Ranorex Automation or Ranorex Automation NG? Ranorex Automation (without NG) is an old addon, which is not compatible with FF40 and higher and should be disabled. However, aside this old addon, there should be installed also new one, called "NG", which is supposed to work with FF 40 and higher.
Ranorex Automation NG addon usually installs automatically with Ranorex setup but sometimes it don't Luckily, you can easily install it manually. Please follow the steps I posted here:
