I have a very handy tool which saves a screen shot to a file when I press PrintScr on the keyboard. This tool stops to work when I open Ranorex Studio, until I restart it. So my question is: Does Ranorex Studio capture the PrintScr key? If so, can I disable that?
Thanks
Hans
Does Ranorex Studio capture the PrintScr key?
Re: Does Ranorex Studio capture the PrintScr key?
Hi,
I don't think so, because I'm using "Print Screen" key on a regular basis and I have Ranorex Studio open almost all the time? What tool are you using and which version of Ranorex?

The tool is Screenpresso. Ranorex version is 9.3.1.

Hi,
Well, most recent Ranorex is 9.3.2, but I don't think it will change anything. So what you can try is different computer, or uninstall Screenpresso and install it back. I'm using SnagIt and PrintScreen works OK with Ranorex.

Re: Does Ranorex Studio capture the PrintScr key?
Just found this: PrintScr works with Screenresso - except when Ranorex Studio is the active application. When I click into the Ranorex window, PrintScr doesn't do anything. Clicking elsewhere, all is fine. This is a bit weird but knowing it, I can live with it... And yes, I will try a different computer when I get my hands on one!

Re: Does Ranorex Studio capture the PrintScr key?
I'm seeing this same behavior...
Ranorex Studio 10.4.0
If Ranorex Studio has focus, then pressing Print Screen key does not start a screen capture.
if I click out of Ranorex, then Print Screen works as expected.

Re: Does Ranorex Studio capture the PrintScr key?
I noticed someone said SnagIt was working for them, so I confirmed...
With SnagIt registered as the Print Screen button handler, I am able to use Print Screen to capture when any other application has focus. If I click into Ranorex Studio and press the Print Screen key nothing happens. As soon as I click out, the Print Screen key works as expected.
With ShareX registered as the Print Screen button handler, same behavior as above.
It makes it difficult to document procedures on how to use Ranorex for our team. Its hard to understand why this behavior would be intentional.
