OS: Windows 10, version 1709 build 16299.15.
Ranorex version: 7.2.1; new install today.
Attempting to change Excel data source file path reference to the local (relative) path where the file is located. The project was developed as a team on a different machine, and the test suite is working, except that since we're splitting to work as individuals it turns out the files were wrongly placed on a single team members user folder. We've fixed the placement and I'm fixing the reference (or trying to).
Steps:
Click the Data Source Name in the Manage Data Source dialog.
Pick the file from the local project path
Edit the file reference to be a relative vs. absolute path.
Click Apply
At this point Ranorex renders the following error message: "Excel is not installed. ExcelDataConnector requires Excel to be installed."
I have it at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\ in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Excel\InstallRoot.
My compatriots have it installed at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\EXCEL.EXE"
Does this mean that Ranorex requires a 32 bit version of Excel?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
