Executing the Batch Script

Post by dal » Tue Jan 11, 2011 1:05 pm

Thanks for the Support Team for all the queries resolved on the timely manner in our projects till now.

Now we are into a Execution Phase of the created scripts by calling in Batch File.

We have created a Bat file (with .bat extn) in a project and added the following steps in it. But its not executing the executable.

Code: Select all

cd bin\debug
call project1.exe (which is located under bin\debug)
Can you please suggest me, if any other settings to be done before.

Call (in batch files) is used to start one batch file from another.
You can either start the .exe just by using the .exe name or by using the Start command.

You may also want to look into using whatever language it is you are developing your automation code in to write your launcher or even using VBScript.
I wrote my own launcher that we use here in C# (my development language of choice) because I was easily able to add all of my regression tests to a single page and allow the user to just select checkboxes of what tests were to be executed.
If this or any response has helped you, please reply to the thread stating that it worked so other people with a similar issue will know how you fixed your issue!
