Execution permission issue on VM?

Post by c676228 » Fri Sep 18, 2015 1:27 am

Hi,

I have deployed the automation program to a VM on a c drive.
After that I added another user to the administrators group so I can remote to the VM and run the tests.

However, he can RDP to the VM and open the solution files and see everything. But whenever he runs it, the program just gives an error, say some element is not found(not even the top level dom is recognized). I checked with Spy, nothing can be recognized. I remember when I installed, it is for all users. Maybe I accidentally checked only for myself?
Basically Ranorex cannot identify any element when he runs.

But If we rdp using my credential to the VM, we can run it without issue.

Our IT guy double checked my setting, he doesn't see anything wrong. What I am missing?

Thanks,
Betty

Ok I figured out and fixed it.

I check Ranorex plugin through his login. Both Firefox and Chrome plugin are disabled somehow(that's why no elements can be recognized. However IE plugin is not disabled).

Can anyone tell me why it was somehow different?
And meanwhile I suddenly noticed that are two plugins for firefox. One is Ranorex Automation NG 1.0.0 disabled and another one Ranorex Automation 5.4.1 and it is also disabled. So I enabled 5.4.1.

Is there a way to guarantee configurations to all browsers/installation like importing ssl etc. will be the same for all users? I am an admin on VM.
