Hi,
we have recently purchased a bunch of licenses for Ranorex and are doing the first steps in test-automation. We are mainly focused on web-applications and are convinced that Ranorex will be a good addition to our quality-assurance measures. Within development we just added a new gui-library to our technology-stack, which is different from most other gui-libs available. Instead of having the id-Attribute of an element as a unique and reliable identifier, we have to use another attribute (which is called CUID) due to technical-design of the components.
In order to make these applications better testable for our QA-Team, we (development) are searching for a way to support this type of controls in Ranorex.
The first step would be to have a custom adapter (I hope this is the correct name) which displays the CUID-Attribute in addition to the other common attributes, that are displayed for each Web-Element.
I've seen some classes and interfaces in Ranorex.Core, which might be of interest, but the documentation lacks a little information. Could you give us a brief introduction on how to extend Ranorex so that it identifies these controls?
Thank you very much in advacne,
Kristof Berger

Please can you send us an example of your HTML page, because there could be already a solution that you can automate the elements by the CUID attribute.KristofBerger wrote:Could you give us a brief introduction on how to extend Ranorex so that it identifies these controls?
