Hi,

Today I've updated Flash Player to the latest version (12.0.0.43) and then tried to make flash instrumentation with Ranorex preloader. At the end of the instrumentation process appears error message:

An error occured while installing. Error code 1013 (Trying to install older revision. Please uninstall/disable any existing flash players. Internet Explorer 10 is currently not supported).

Please make sure that all your browser instances are closed.

Retry Cancel
---------------------------

Ranorex version is 4.1.4

Can you give recommendations for solving this problem?

Hello Oksana,

Did you install the flash debugger as well?
Please find the link to the download site below.

Please let me know if the instrumentation works after doing so.

Yes I did, I installed flash debugger as well.
This error still occures, though I've found that flash elements can be recognized now by Ranorex Spy.

Thank you for the information.
It seems that the instrumentation worked although the error is shown. The reason could be that you have already installed the flash debugger.
I am also using adobe Flash Player 12, but I could not reproduce the issue on my machine.

Could it be that not all browsers instances were closed? For example Skype also uses an instance of Internet Explorer.

I am running into same issue today after upgrade Adobe Fash player 13 active x, and now object spy not able to identify the flash object , please advise

I have installed Adobe Flash Player 13 on my machine to reproduce the issue but it worked es expected on my machine.
May I ask you to answer the following questions?
Have you downloaded the right version, the Windows Flash Player 13 ActiveX control content debugger?
Which Ranorex and Windows version are you using?
Is the Flash/Flex instrumentation enabled?

till yesterday it was working fine. All of a sudden i don't know what happened??

I'm facing the same problem. Ranorex preloader in not installed.
In my machine, I have
Adobe Flash player 14 Plugin
Adobe Flash Player Activex
Installed flash debugger, using link provided in this thread in previous conversations.
(Windows Flash player 14 Plugin content debugger)

Is this mandatory to use flash player 12 to install preloader?

I'm using Ranorex 5.0 trial version.
Please help me!!!!

Hello shruthi,

Please try to enable just the Preloader Instrumentation and do not instrument Firefox.
Please let me know if you were able to recognize flash elements within Firefox after applying the mentioned step.

OS: Windows 7 (SP1)
Browser: IE 8.0.7601 (64 Bit)
Ranorex Version: 4.1.6
dotNet RunTime: 4.0
Flex SDK: 4.5.1
Windows Flash Player: 15.0.0.152 Activex control content debugger (for IE) 64 Bit ??
Windows Flash Player: 15.0.0.152 Plugin

I have Ranorex running and recognizing Flex elements in my installed instance.

I'm working with a colleague to get Ranorex installed and working in her environment (Shown above) ... We are getting the dreaded yellow 'instrumentation warning' when attempting to Track to a Flex element.

The only difference in our environments - that I'm aware of - I have version 14.0.0.145 of the Activex control content debugger - she has 15.0.0.152.

Will 15.0.0 work with IE 8.0 and Flex 4.5 ???

From the adobe download page we attempted to download version 13 of the debugger. I also have the install for version 14 .. but the adobe will not allow a older version to be installed.

Hi Chris,

The FlashPlayer 15 debug version should work fine.

Did you already try to enable the "Preloader Instrumentation" as stated in my previous post?
