Galaxy Tab - WebTesting

Post by pavanturlapati » Mon Jul 21, 2014 6:03 pm

I am trying to explore the Android Web Testing which has been introduced recently. I want to add objects available on the web application opened on the tablet.
I was just curious to know is there any other way to add objects into the repository file without recording as the Track or View Spy will identify objects only on the laptop where I have my tool installed.

What I did:
1. Instrumented the Ranorex Rx browser
2. Opened the browser and navigated to the URL
3. Performed recording on the objects.
4. Commented the line where it calls the recorded code
5. With the objects available, written my custom code

What I want:
1. I do not want to record and take the help of Spy or Track and add objects directly.

Hello pavanturlapati,

I’m afraid that it’s not possible to manually add items to the repository with reasonable effort since the Ranorex tools are designed to recognize objects and map them using our RxPath.

In general the RxPath is the main feature in Ranorex. All elements are recognized using the RxPath within your application.

Thank you for your understanding.
