Get Value

Post by Becca » Thu Jul 27, 2017 7:34 pm

Good day all,

I have been trying to figure this out on my own but could use some help. This seems such a simple thing that I may be overthinking now.

Please note, I am really trying to avoid any use of code here and would prefer to use the built in tools.

What I am trying to do is this:

Customer account is created and assigned an account number.
The next customer account should increment the account number by 1.
Our account number generator is not reset every night, so the numbers are never the same.

My test case should go as follows -

1. Create customer account
2. Copy account number
3. Create customer account
4. Confirm new account number = previous account number + 1

I thought the Get Value action might help me with this but I am struggling to find any use for it at all.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Using GetValue may help you with getting the account number via one module, then transfer the account number to another module. However, you will still have to use some code to compare the initial and following account number. Unfortunately, without knowing exact account number format (is it a simple number or a combination of string and number?) it's impossible to suggest something reliable.

Here you can learn how to use GetValue action to share data between modules: ... o-another/
