Hello,
We're trying to use Ranorex on a map application. We have a frame, which includes the map, which is called through an API. We can access the frame through Ranorex but we cannot access the objects in the map. Ranorex considers the whole frame (map) as a bitmap but actually it is not.
So, two questions here;
Does Ranorex access only to the components that are derived from JComponent?
Is there a way to access Java Objects in an application through Ranorex?
For the record, we have configured Ranorex with the active JRE.
My configuration is as follows:
Ranorex: 3.2.0.15301
.Net RunTime Version: 2.0.50727.3625
Java: 1.6.0-b105
O/S: Windows XP with SP3
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Arda Unal

Hi,
Can you also send us some useful information about that control/map, is it a custom control, does it derive from a specific class, ...?

Markus

No not only, we also support grids, lists and trees, custom controls are normally not supported, but please send us a Ranorex Snapshot file of your application, or even better can we get access to it?Does Ranorex access only to the components that are derived from JComponent?

Hi,
Unfortunately, I cannot due to the security regulations of my company.
Map is a standard S-57 map like the one displayed in the attachment. Map is displayed in a JFrame, which is again similar to the one given in the attachment. It contains, basically, objects and vectors but I can't get a reference to an individual object displayed in the map, whole map is seen as a bitmap displayed in the frame.

Oh that's not good, if we do not get any specific information about the objects we are not able to tell you if we can identify the objects within the map, or which steps you have to perform to make it identifiable for Ranorex.Unfortunately, I cannot due to the security regulations of my company.
