Hello, I can't see an easy way to add a a repository item from the Spy to an Optimized Rooted Folder.
I've attached a screenshot that I hope helps to explain the problem.
Essentially, after the folder is optimized, I can no longer drag and drop items into it from the spy, but prior to optimization I can do it just fine.
If I have an optimized folder and new elements need to be added, it requires a really convoluted process to do so. I'm assuming I'm missing something here. I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that the spy already has the root folder in the element path and the root folder doesn't seem to like this.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Carson.

Hi,
Which Ranorex version are you using?
Can you post or send us the used report file or at least the whole RxPath of the rooted folder and a Ranorex snapshot file of your application?
You can upload it here our you can send it to our support email address: [email protected].
Following link will show you how to generate a snapshot file:

This should normally work without problems, are you sure you are useing the right RxPath for the rooted folder? What do you exactly mean with "the folder is optimized"?Essentially, after the folder is optimized, I can no longer drag and drop items into it from the spy, but prior to optimization I can do it just fine.

Re: How to add repository items to Optimized rooted folder...?
Ok, I wrote out a beautiful email with all the steps, sample repository and a snapshot so I could clearly demonstrate the problem... at which point it worked perfectly!
So, I tried my own scenario as before, which also happened to work perfectly
So now, I can't reproduce the problem, although when I initially was setting up the repository the problem was occurring and it was really frustrating. There must be something different that I'm missing, but I'm not sure what ti is.
Anyway, if I happen across it again, I'll try and capture it and send it your way in case there's some weird scenario or case that I'm running into that I've not be able to hit again.
Thanks!
Carson.

If drag & drop does not work, you can also try copy & paste the item that will allow you to force an item inside a rooted folder.
