How to copy-paste Repository items between Solutions

Post by thomas1t » Fri Jan 08, 2016 1:00 am

I have two solutions with many recordings between them. I'll call them A and B. The recordings therein have similarities so the two repositories (not shared) are similar to a large degree. Recently, I've had to make manual changes to the repository items because the AUT got major structural changes where panels were added causing the XPaths to no longer work.

Anyway, in some cases, I'm just adding ".//" to make the path more robust, etc. Now I'm working on repository B and will need to make, pretty much the same changes manually, to similar items: button X in Solution A is still the same button in Solution B. Is there a way to safely copy-past the repo items from solution A to B?

Thanks for any tips?

Hi thomas1t ,

I would suggest opening both repositories side by side using the Ranorex Studio. Simply copy the needed items to the specific repository.

Hope this information helps.

Sincerely,
Robert
