Is Ranorex able to handle treelistview in a desktop app?

Post by magansahil » Sat Sep 10, 2016 12:01 pm

Hello All;

Afternoon. Hope everyone is good.

I am trying to take a control over one of the very specific views in a Desktop application (treelistview). But not been able to handle it using AUTO IT. Someone has suggested me to check RANOREX as a tool. Can anyone please confirm if they have successfully handled such views in a desktop application using RANOREX?

Hi,

It's pretty hard to answer your question without access to the desktop app/treelist in question. What kind of technology is the treelist in question (web, java, wpf, wt, etc...)?

The quickest way to determine if Ranorex is able to work with the mentioned treelist is to install Ranorex trial and try it with your app. Eventually, create Ranorex snapshot (as described here) and post it to your question so we can examine it.

Please add these details to your questions:
  • Ranorex Snapshot. Learn how to create one >here<
  • Ranorex xPath of problematic element(s)
  • Ranorex version
  • OS version
  • HW configuration

Thanks for your response..that APPLICATION is in a restricted environment and I do not have the luxury to install a ranorex trial as well. Still let me try to figure out what best I can do to provide you.
