Hi,

At first, you are using an obsolete and no longer supported Ranorex version. Please update to most recent 9.5.1 and try to reproduce the problem with this version.

In the past, there were some reports (and I experienced it too), that some HTML tags fail with similar error. The solution, if I remember it correctly, was to replace "Input" or "Button" with "InputTag" or "ButtonTag" in xpath of given repo element. Hope this helps?

We cannot migrate to newer version yet but we are planning to do it soon.

The solution provide by you worked but now I am getting new error.

"Please check that your whitelist allows Ranorex to access the process."

I have added chrome to the whitelist and still getting this error.

Please provide a work around , if possible.

Thank you

Hi,

I'm afraid, I've never experienced such issue? So your best hope is to contact Ranorex support? And I think they will need access to the webpage/app under test. Is it a normal web page opened in chrome?

Have you tried another browser, e.g. MS Edge (chrome based) and FF?
Is there something special abut these elements asking for white listing?

I upgrade ranorex to 9.5.1 and i am still getting same issue.

"Repo.item is no InputTag".

I replace the repo definition from 'input' to 'inputtag' but still same issue.

Please suggest.

Thank you

Hi,

Unfortunately, it's hard to say what's wrong in your particular case. Replacing Input with InputTag usually helps. Is there any chance we can see your web with problematic element?
