Hi,

I know currently that only SWT Java applications can be automated using Ranorex, but I am wondering if you are working on support for AWT and Swing based applications?

I read an old post which said that you were working on it, and I am hoping that this is still the case, is there any more information about it?

Currently, we support testing of SWT applications.
We plan to support AWT/Swing in Version 2.0 which will be released in fall 2008.

I have been looking at the Java Accessibility Bridge as a work around, until you guys can solve this AWT/Swing problem. I looked at it, beating my head with C++ and trying to get the thing to work. As you can probably tell from this post. I failed. I think that the Java Accessibility Bridge only allows read only in win32 environments. I am pretty sure that you guys have looked into this piece of tech for a solution and have drawn the same conclusions. In the meantime, as one of your customers who find your technology to be great and has aided me in my development a lot, could you please direct me to some sort of solution for Java Swing/AWT until you guys are ready to ship the solution wrapped up in Ranorex.

From our experiences, the Java Accessibility Bridge is definitely not the way to go.
We are currently evaluating a number of technical possibilities;
Java support is planned to be added in Q4 2010.
