Letter case is not recognized during "Record"
Letter case is not recognized during "Record"
When using "Record" option and manually typing values (Username, Password etc) logging in to the website under test (using IE or Chrome) letter case (Upper/Lower) is improperly recognized by the software. Version used: (8.8.8-beta1+git.9c7c0777.Beta).

Re: Letter case is not recognized during "Record"
Hi gfeldman,
I presume you are on the 8.0.0 beta as there is no 8.8.8 version of Ranorex. Note, 8.0 has since been released and I highly recommend upgrading to the official release version.
Ranorex 8.0 no longer records shift-down/up for key sequence actions as 99.9% of the time, it is not required in the application. This is only required if there is a shift key listener that needs to be triggered. As long as the text in the key sequence field has the desired case, Ranorex will type it in this case. The case used when recording should be reflected in the key sequence action step.
If you are not seeing this behavior after upgrading to the release version, please contact us so we may further investigate.
I hope this helps!
Cheers,
-Ned
