Mailing the reports

Post by QAtesting » Thu Nov 21, 2013 6:33 pm

Hi All,

After successfully/Partially completion of execution of Ranorex, i would like to send the reports in the form of mail. Could any body let me know, How does mailing works in ranorex?, How can we trigger the Mail option?

Thanks in advance.

Hi QAtesting,

"send report by email" is a very useful feature for any automated tester, and this topic was discussed multiple times on Ranorex forums. So, if you enter "send report by email" into Search field, you'll receive tons of forum posts for all aspects of it.
To know more of Ranorex web-site Search engine, in case you'll have more questions appear as you get to know the tool (right, many of them may have been answered, you just need to find out where), please read http://www.ranorex.com/blog/effectively ... rch-engine

Best regards,
Alena.

Thankyou Alena, for the quick response.

i have been to those forum, non of the forums tell how does it work or At least I was not able find how does the sending mail option work?.

We would like to know the following:

1. How should we add the mail sending code the project?
2. How can we run the mail sending module and test.

-Thankyou

Hi, this should work...
http://www.ranorex.com/forum/send-mail- ... t2356.html

Anyway, if you want to setup effective test automation solution with sending reports, I would recommend you to investigate and setup a continuous integration solution with integrated Ranorex tests. This way you don't have to send emails from Ranorex and as a bonus, you will get complete overview of build and test logs. And if properly setup, it can warn you about any problems in build/test only seconds/minutes after submitting the code to source control system.
