Manually instrumenting an apk with Ranorex 8.0

Post by AQLIVE » Mon Jan 15, 2018 1:01 pm

How do you manually set up instrumentation on apk files using Ranorex 8.0
In the manifest I need to add the RxVersion and RxLibVersion but which file should I include?
Is it just the .jar file present in the Rx installation folder/bin path?

Looks like the lib file change quite a lot and with no documentation on it.
I, however, love the Gui of Rx 8.

Hi AQLIVE,

Thank you for your feedback on our GUI :)

The Manual instrumentation for Android automation and the recording on mobile devices was discontinued with Ranorex 8.0.
The instrumentation still works with the Ranorex Instrumentation Wizard. May I ask you if you are facing any issues when instrumenting the application using the wizard?

Regards,
