Masked variables not being input

Post by jonny » Fri Mar 20, 2020 2:36 pm

First post since we purchased Ranorex. I've connected a csv datasource that just has my username + password for a system for local testing and will be replaced by a service account on a VM for proper testing. But my variables for the username and password aren't input when the recording executes. They work as plain text though. I should note I am seeing this warning:
UI elements in your 'WPF.Core' AUT can’t be identified because it couldn’t be instrumented automatically. Restart all Ranorex tools and the AUT with the same privileges, preferably as an administrator. Could not set-up managed injection endpoint: DotNet Core CLR bootrapping error
Process: 'Ranorex.TestExecMonitor' (pid 15652)
(This message is only shown once per report.)
So these two variables in the setup recording modules are listed as bound and in the modules themselves the input is listed as a variable too.

At first, what Ranorex version do you use (most recent is 9.3.1)? If you are using 9.3.0, you should definitely update to 9.3.1. If you are using something older than 9.2.1, you should install, at very least, 9.2.1 ;)

At next, have you tried to start the Studio and/or your test (if started outside Studio) as Administrator, as recommended in the error message?
