Migration assistance from 3.1.2 to Ranorex 5

Post by Ram_Sankar » Fri May 02, 2014 8:53 am

Hello Team,

Request your on help on an critical project that I am working on. we have two different versions of Ranorex 3,1,2 and we also have the new Ranorex 5 version. All our old automation recordings were done and tested in the 3,1,2 version.

However, I was given the task to run them using new version. I am still a beginner in Ranorex. As a part of changes last week, I moved a few recording modules between different grouped submodules in view of the project changes. After all movements, the test was run and fortunately it passed 100%. This final update was also checked in to SVN.

This morning I was to checkout the last version from SVN and run them into our new system that has Ranorex 5, i get the following errors that are puzzling.

"The repository item cannot be found. Select "No Item" or restore the item for actiion no.4. To correct this problem set the invalid propertz to a valid value using the item property settings".

I am clueless what does this mean. Why should any changes be done when it functions in the old version flawless.

Any help or support in this area will be sincerely appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation,
Ram
I am under a strict deadline to get this functional

Hello Ram,

Please ensure that you update any referenced projects before you update your “main”-solution since this might cause the issue.

Regards,
Robert
