Mouse Freeze

Post by aatish » Mon Mar 23, 2015 5:07 pm

While recording the mouse cursor suddenly freeze's and I can't seem to get it working normally unless and until I restart my Machine. Now this is happening more frequently and it's very troubling to work. Let me how to what's causing this how can I fix this. I tried checking all the system and Ranorex settings but everything seems to be alright.

Hello aatish,

May I ask which version of Ranorex you are currently using?

Please update to our latest version, currently Ranorex 5.3. If you are already using Ranorex 5.3. we suggest a clean re-install of Ranorex.

Therefore:
  • • Completely uninstall Ranorex.
    • Reboot your machine.
    • Install Ranorex again.
Let me know if you need any further help.

Regards,
Robert

Hi Robert,

I was using the Version 5.2, I Uninstalled the old version and Installed 5.3. Looks like everything is fine as of now. If the mouse still freeze's I'll let you know.

Thank You

This also happens to me occasionally and it has been an issue on various Ranorex versions, up to and including 5.2.2 (running on Windows 7 with 4 GB Ram). It occurred before and after a full uninstall and re-install. On most occasions, a machine restart is required to resolve the issue.

Hi Robert,

I tried what you asked for, I installed Ranorex 5.3 but the bigger issue is I can't seem to ran any of my scripts anymore. Each time I open my suite it freezes (Not Responding) Every single script and the mouse still freeze's!

Please get back to me as soon as possible

Thank You
Aatish

Aatish are you using an application for capturing screenshots? I use Snipping Tool, I'm not certain, but the issue appears to occur more often when I have a previously captured screenshot open. I now try to ensure all screenshots are closed before running any tests and it does seem to help avoid the mouse freezing.

Just to add, pressing 'Shift' + 'Esc', stops recording and unfreezes the mouse.

Hi Fergal

Yeah I do press Shift + Esc to unfreeze the mouse. But if i start recording again it freezes back. I would have to restart my machine to get it working. Yeah I use the snipping tool, I'll try not to leave the screenshot window open.

Thank You
