Hi all,

I have a flash app that I am automating. I have used the instrumentation wizard to configure that preloader, and mm.cfg and all else that it says in the documentation. I still get the limited Flash/Flex recognition pop-up, and I can't see any of the flash elements in the Studio. I just get a "Picture Graphic".

I then tried the Spy and as soon as I tracked a flash element I got the limited pop-up, but I was able to see all sorts of text and buttons in the container. My idea was that if I could get all the path names I could just use those directly in code to validate things, and press buttons, etc. So I took a snapshot of the flash app, thinking that when I went back to look at it, all the elements that were visible in the Spy would be visible in the snapshot.

No such luck. None of those extra text and buttons were there anymore, it was back to just the "Picture Graphic". I don't understand. Why would they disappear? The Spy was recognizing them. I even had the Spy window present in the screenshot included with one of the snapshots, and you can see all the elements present in that window.

We have figured it out.

The snapshot only saved what was actually selected in the tree in the spy window, and we didn't have the top level container selected. When the top level container was selected at the time of the snapshot we got everything.

In hindsight, looks obvious, and probably if we had selected something more specific than generic picture it would have been clear what had happened, but we didn't. Hopefully if someone else does run into this they can search this topic and get the answer to their question.

Are you still getting the technology limitation warning, or did you solve this to?
