I was just wondering, when a new version is released, there is always an accompanying floating license server program as well. If we are only using the core Ranorex API and update on the development machine, do we also have to upgrade the floating license server to match the version?
The reason I ask is because I moved from core 3.01 to 3.03 API and did not upgrade my floating server and it still works. Was this just a coincidence or working as designed? If working as designed, when will we need to upgrade the floating license server?
Thanks,
Aracknid

Re: New Ranorex versions and floating license servers
Hi,
If we release a Major or Minor release, means 3.1 or 4.x, then you should update, because there are for sure new features and bug fixes in there.

We recommend to update the License Server with our bug releases, because we also do bug fixing for the License Server. But if it works without any issue, you don't have to update.Aracknid wrote:Was this just a coincidence or working as designed?
