Not able to identifying the elements

Post by Santhosh » Wed Sep 05, 2018 10:17 am

Hi,

While recording i am not able to record the application
1. Recording of objects is taking longer than expected in login page
2. While verifying the selected value in WinList view where the object is getting displayed as table in the Ranorex spy
3. Some of the text boxes in window are having same control id’s with element tag as parent and elements are having control id’s as property
4. Ranorex supports Visual C++ technology?

Please find below attached Ranorex Snapshot and the environment details :
ranorexsnapshot1.rxsnp
Ranorex Version : 8.2.1
.Net Runtime version : 4.0.30319
Windows Version : Win 10
Application Details : Desktop App
Application built in : Visual C++

Please help me out on the same.

Regards,
Santosh

Hi,

At first, could you please point (ideally, post the xpath) to the problematic element in snapshot?

At next, there seems to be integrated IE browser window in your app and as such, it does not have installed/enabled Ranorex plugin.

Basically, Ranorex should be able to identify elements in IE even without installed plugin. It may just take much longer to identify individual web elements. This slowdown may be a reason of 'invalid' identification of the elements under DOM? What happens if you try to track (with spy) the table under DOM? Does the Ranorex identify the table?

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with integrated IE web browser in VC++ app. Maybe someone else can answer your problem? I would suggest to create a support ticket here...
