Performance issue
Do you know when Ranorex is going to release a new version that fixes the known performance issue when updating data source or adding new testcases?
Re: Performance issue

Re: Performance issue
Hello,
The new version is already online. You can download it from the download archive.
Please make a backup from your solution before you install the new version.
In order to install the new version the following steps are recommended:
Uninstall the old version of Ranorex completely.
Restart your computer
Install the new version of Ranorex using the Ranorex 4.1.0.exe file. If you want to use the Ranorex 4.1.0.zip file please use the setup.exe file for the installation.
Regards,
Bernhard

Re: Performance issue
I just installed 4.1.0 and it hasn't improved this issue at all?
Yes I did a full unistall restart and re-install.

Re: Performance issue
There is new performance issue that I just noticed today.
Agree that 4.1.0 has fixed the known performance issue when adding new test case or modifying data source; but it does introduce another one.
When deleting a recording module from a test case, again, lots of EXCEL.EXE processes are generated and so, same thing, Ranorex Studio is not available for use until it stops generating the excel processes which takes a few minutes.

Re: Performance issue
Hello IanF,
May I ask you to answer a few questions.
This would hep us to analyze your issue.
Could you please describe details about your Test Suite?
How large is your data set?
How many Test Cases and Data Connectors do you have?
Do you use Excel as a data source?
Regards,
Markus (T)

Size of the test suite? -> *.rxtst 850K
My test cases also have nested test cases and most of the test cases have Excel data connector

Re: Performance issue
Hello,
I have tried to reproduce the issue on my machine, but when I delete a recording from the test suite including some variables bound to an excel data connector no new EXCEL.EXE processes will be created.
Is it possible to send us your solution in order to reproduce the issue?
Thank you!
Regards,
Bernhard

Re: Performance issue
The project is under source control in TFS it is held on the development project server. There are around 80 Test Cases (so far) half of those have data connections all the data is held in one 6940kb Excel file most tests have their own tab in the data some do share tabs.Support Team wrote:Hello IanF,

When I add a new test there is a lag of around 30 seconds before Ranorex is available again.
