Just picked up Ranorex for our company, the software that we are testing is a UWP app. Problem im having is that Ranorex is causing the app to stay open under Apps and not move to a background process after it is closed...thus not being able to be launched again.
What should happen:
start windows>navigate to program > open program (program starts and is visible in task manager under Apps)> close program (program is moved to background process)>program can be opened again.
What happens:
If you start Ranorex > use SPY to find software to launch (add software to library)> write test case> launch test case (launching software) > Close software> software remains under "Apps" in task manager and cannot be opened again.
This happens anytime the object even exists in the library after you launch Ranorex, even if you close Ranorex. It almost seems that the object in the library is "holding on" to the app and preventing it from closing.
Any ideas?

The only thing that I can think of in this case is to try with enabled/disabled UIA Launcher:
Can you try is the behavior changes if you change this option?
If this does not help, then I think that you should contact Ranorex Support via the support query.
