Hi all,

I’ve merged all topics to this since they were about the same problem.

I’ve found the following workaround in order to install an older version of iTunes
  • Uninstall iTunes 12.1 completely including all its remnants such as Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support and iCloud. Otherwise, the leftover might hinder the downgrade process
  • Delete your iTunes folder in C:\USERS\YOURUSER\MUSIC
  • Reboot your machine
  • Install iTunes 12.0.1

iTunes Windows 32 Bit
iTunes Windows 64 Bit

Please let me know if you are still facing issues after downgrading iTunes.

Regarding iOS 8.1.3
Unfortunately we are not aware of any issues in combination with the latest iOS version.
May I ask you if you have confirmed the ‘Trust’ dialog on your device under test?

Regards,
Markus (S)

Hi there,

I did confirm the Trust dialogue.

I was able to connect the devices in iTunes without a problem and they were appearing as devices in device manager and as a drive in My Computer, but would not display with with Ranorex as a device in the devices screen.

Hi Kieran,

May I ask you to perform this step-by-step tutorial to add a device to Ranorex?
  • Remove all devices from the ‘Device Manager’
  • Connect device via USB
  • Open the ‘Device Manager’
  • The following dialog should appear
    • Device_Manager_AddNewDevice.png
  • Select iOS(iPhone, iPad) / USB
  • The device should now be available as shown below
    • DeviceManager_Discovered_Devices.png
  • Select the device and click on ‘Finish’

Hi Markus,

I have tried this.

As I have said previously a IPhone without 8.1.3 displays in the list without a problem.

An IPhone with 8.1.3 does not.

My problem is not generally getting the devices to connect but specifically getting devices with 8.1.3 to connect.

Hi Kieran,

Thank you for your feedback.
May I ask you to send an email to [email protected] ? I’d like to analyze this issue personal with you.
Thank you.
