Question about running tests

Post by mauriPS » Fri Aug 08, 2014 7:03 pm

Hello

Can someone, with profesional experience in Ranorex and at least a year of usage, tell me if it is possible to RUN a test, and do "other" stuff at the same time? For example doing the running in a virtual machine while doing some other manual work on the main OS ?

And if you have been using it on your company, how did you or your company use it? for support? for only testing software? is it a tool intended more for developers than testers?

And how does it have TFS integration?

Yes, Ranorex can be run on a guest VM while you still do work on the host.

Ranorex must be installed on the guest VM, though. You cannot use Ranorex on a VM from an installation on the host.

I do this all the time and it works well.

I use it exclusively for testing, although you could use it for automating other areas.

I do not use TFS, we use GitHub for version control and PivotalTracker for story management. I also use Jenkins for job/test run control.
