Ranorex can't integrate with MS TFS 2017

Post by JimLin » Fri Feb 16, 2018 9:58 am

I know we shouldn't really cross post, but I don't want to type everything out again.

As mentioned here ranorex-and-tfs-2017-t11401.html, Ranorex won't integrate with TFS 2017, as the latest MSSCCI 2013/2015 plug in isn't compatible.

I am surprised that no one else has raised this as an issue.

Regards,
James

Hi,

Well, if MSSCCI provider 2013/15 is not compatible with TFS 2017, and MS is not willing to update MSSCCI provider, there is nothing Ranorex folks could probably do about it?

Anyway, it’s better to avoid TFS integration in Ranorex, just because of MSSCCI provider, which makes the TFS operations slow and generally slows Ranorex down. The bigger the solution is, the slower responses you get. And the bottleneck is definitely MSSCCI provider. So it’s better to use TeamExplorer instead of TFS integration in Ranorex.

I wasn't meaning that it was a Ranorex issue to resolve, I was just surprised that no one had raised it before.

You know, TFS people here are mostly aware that the MSSCCI provider sucks and so they are using TFS outside Ranorex Studio ;)
