Hi,
In the last while, running my test suite has became very slow. Nothing has changed on my PC, but the number of test cases has grown. If I execute them, Ranorex will hang for a couple of minutes before starting to execute.
I also found that doing recordings started to hang a while before it recognizes an object, for example when I do validations. It used to be so quick!
Any tips for making things perform faster?
Thanks

Re: Ranorex performing slower
We are also facing this issue with Ranorex 3.0. We are using Keyword driven framework. I have noted that as we go on increasing keywords in excel, the performance degrades and we get timeout error and ranorex simply quits execution. I have also noted the memory usage and its not an issue. Observed this running through both visual studio 2010 and N unit.
we are using windows OS with 4GB ram
Is there any solution to it?. Please let me know if some more details are required.
Thanks,
vdeore

Hi,
Would it be possible to post us a description how we can reproduce the issue?
Such performance issues are not the easiest to find, because currently we have no clue which causes this issue.
Are you guys just replaying your test suites or are you doing something special in your scripts?

Peter

Hi,
Thanks in advance.

The best would be a single use case to reproduce the issue 100%. Even better would be to send us a small Ranorex Solution which causes this issue.vdeore wrote:Please let me know the details required to do analysis of this issue.

Re: Ranorex performing slower
Hi,
We did performance test with Ranorex and the speed doesn't decrease even after 2 days.

No sorry, because we didn't receive a project till today to reproduce it and we are not able to reproduce it. So until now we could not even confirm that there is a problem...gladys65 wrote:have you already found any solution?

Hi Peter/Ranorex Support Team,
I think we need to do a webex for this instead of sending a solution file.
Please let us know when can we do the webex. We are located in India.
Thanks,
Vaibhav

If you have a out of memory exception a webex isn't very useful, because we need a lot of tools to nail down the memory leak. Therefore the best solution would be to get a project from you, where we are able to reproduce the issue.vdeore wrote:I think we need to do a webex for this instead of sending a solution file.

Re: Ranorex performing slower
Ok. But will you be able to debug without an application for which the scripts are written?
Thanks,

Hi,
If you can handle that we can reproduce the issue without an application then this is okay. But normally we have to run an automation to find the issue and to run the automation we need an unit under test.
