Hi,
We have Ranorex premium licenses and we are planning to purchase few runtime licenses to help with our test execution. I have few questions on this
1) I understand that we can use .exe file in the test machine to do the test execution. How do we see the report after execution? Do we have same reports file structure( creates .xlog file) as we see in ranorex studio?
2) Do we have any trial version of ranorex runtime edition to try it out before we purchase ?
3) Do we have any help guide or installation guide for the ranorex runtime edition?
Thanks,
Saha
Ranorex runtime license
Re: Ranorex runtime license
I set all my reports to default to a .XML extension (they are just XML files after all). From that, IE can open and view the report just fine. How do we see the report after execution? Do we have same reports file structure( creates .xlog file) as we see in ranorex studio?
Not really needed... If you can install premium you will have no problem installing the runtime. Just use the same installer but give it the runtime license when setting up your license. Only the runtime functions will be enabled with a runtime license. (Just did one of these this morning in fact)Do we have any help guide or installation guide for the ranorex runtime edition?
If this or any response has helped you, please reply to the thread stating that it worked so other people with a similar issue will know how you fixed your issue!

Re: Ranorex runtime license
We don't even bother changing extension. IE and Firefox have no problem opening the files. There were some problems with Chrome.

Re: Ranorex runtime license
As suggested by Ciege and Arthur, you can open the *.rxlog file in IE or just rename it to XML and double-click it. Then IE will automatically open your XML file. You can use the Report Viewer too. This tool you will find in the "RanorexInstallDir \bin".Saha wrote:1) I understand that we can use .exe file in the test machine to do the test execution. How do we see the report after execution? You can download a second trial version of Ranorex and install it on a machine. If you need only the runtime components, just select only the Ranorex Main Components during the Setup Wizard.Saha wrote:2) Do we have any trial version of ranorex runtime edition to try it out before we purchase ?
There is no special runtime installation guide/user guide, because you install this components in the same way as a Full Ranorex Installation. The only difference is the license and if you install a runtime license your are not able to use the developer or professional features of Ranorex.Saha wrote:3) Do we have any help guide or installation guide for the ranorex runtime edition?
