Hiya,
Other automation tools (not naming names!) have a delay feature in their GUI spy tool. This allows the user to perform a click in the application to display some gui component, before the spy tool grabs all gui elements.
For example if there is a custom date picker dialog, it will only be visible when the user clicks to open it. This means Ranorex Spy wont see it.
Unless im mistaken!

RanorexSpy does not have a delay feature, but provides "Instant Tracking", i.e. a keyboard shortcut that tells RanorexSpy to spy the element under the mouse cursor when the shortcut "Ctrl+LWin" is pressed. We thought that a shortcut is easier to use than a delay, because using a delay you sometimes get in a hurry

Re: Ranorex Spy - Delay feature request
The "Instant Tracking" is not working with Remote desktop. The shortcut "Ctrl+LWin" is ignored for Remote desktop.
In this case a 'Delay feature' or configurable shortcuts would be helpful.
Or is there an other possibility?

Mats

Re: Ranorex Spy - Delay feature request
That's not completely true. By default, Remote Desktop only send Windows key combinations if Remote Desktop is in full screen mode. However, you can configure Remote Desktop to always send "Windows key combinations" to the remote host. In the "Keyboard" group of the "Local Resources" tab select "On the remote computer" (see below screenshot).mats wrote:The shortcut "Ctrl+LWin" is ignored for Remote desktop.
