Ranorex Versions backwads compatible?
I upgraded to Ranorex 10.1.1 (since it works better with my version of windows than 9.5.3). Our server that will be running the tests though, still has 9.5.3. Will my 10 tests run ok on version 9? Or do we need to update that as well?
Re: Ranorex Versions backwads compatible?
If the scenario were reversed (running a test created in 9.5.3 via Ranorex 10.1.1) you'd probably be okay. But I believe you'll likely run into problems trying to execute tests that were created using 10.1.1 in a lower Ranorex version considering the number of changes that have transpired between 9.5.3 and 10.1.1 . https://www.ranorex.com/release-notes/

Great thank you. I think we should be okay. I'm running the latest and upgraded our server to also use the latest. So if other people (who are still on 9.5.3) create tests, they should still run on the server. Until I make them upgrade their version of Ranorex.

Hi,
I think that the main problem will be not in Ranorex file compatibility, but in the fact that Rx 10.1 uses .Net 4.8 framework. So make sure there is installed .Net 4.8 framework on the machines with Ranorex 9.x!
