Repository drag and drop

Post by RonRudman » Wed Feb 13, 2013 7:14 pm

The user guide says: "To create local variables as shown in the code above, simply drag and drop elements from the repository browser directly into the code."

OK, how exactly do I do this? The only way I can find to see both the repository browser and my code at the same time is by running 2 instances of Studio. Is there an easier way?

Are you using the correct views in the IDE?

I don't know about "correct" but I've got Projects and Module Browser on the left, and Properties on the right. The middle depends on what file I'm looking at. If I open my code module, I see my code. If I open my repository file, I see the repository elements. But each of these is a tab in in center and whichever one is open occupies the entire center.

Hi,

you can perform the mentioned action by dragging the repo element from your repository to the tab of the destination code module (which will open the code module) and drop it at the position you want to create the variable.
