I have been using path weights to adjust the automatic RxPath generation of Ranorex Spy for a some time now and it works fairly well in most cases. In recent releases, the default path build mode was switched to StepCostReduce which seems to use a very different algorithm and set of criteria to build the path.
I was unable to find any meaningful information when I attempted to search the site and forums. Is there any documentation on the Edit Path Build Options dialog or on StepCostReduce itself that could help me customize the path generated by StepCostReduce?

Re: StepCostReduce Path Build Options
Hello mrollins,
The new algorithm 'StepCostReduce' for generating RanoreXPath has been introduced since Ranorex 4.1 in order to make the path more flexible against changes in the application under test.
Unfortunately, there is no specific documentation available about this new algorithm.
It might be useful to change this algorithm back to 'Reduce' in your case, though.
Regards,
Markus (T)
