Structuring Module Groups

Post by Michael Benz » Wed Aug 21, 2013 8:35 am

Hello,

I'd like to know if there is a way to structure the Module Groups in the Module Browser (Ranorex Studio) as you can do with the Modules? You can nicely organize the Modules in folders but we couldn't find a similar functionality for the Module Groups.

For a new Ranorex Project we wanted to extensively use Module Groups. Though, if we can only have a flat list of Module Groups this will quickly get out of hand.

Are there best practices for using Module Groups in larger projects?

Kind Regards,
Michael

Michael,
Currently, in Ranorex 4.1.0, you can have folders INSIDE a module group, but you cannot have folders at the top-level.

Ranorex,
+1 for this feature request. The addition of folders to module groups is great, but adding a way to organize the module groups would also be good.

On that note, the rxtmg does not allow you to sort module groups by name either, which would also go a long ways toward making module groups easier to use.
