Supporting Perforce Source Control

Post by BorisS » Fri Jul 11, 2014 2:35 pm

I installed Ranorex Studio and I would like to put the stuff under Source Control. Regretfully Ranorex cannot work with Perforce, which is our only SCM system. Is there any workaround allowing work with Perforce in the way of Visual Studio?

While Ranorex doesn't integrate directly with Perforce, you can still use Perforce to control your code. It will work just fine.

I use Git, which has no integration with Ranorex, and it works just fine.

The only thing you get with integration is one less step of opening another application. If you get into the habit of using the Perforce system along-side Ranorex you won't have a problem.

It is highly unlikely that the Ranorex team will add an integration for Perforce unless there are a lot of people in the Ranorex community who are using it, which I haven't seen (but I don't have the info they do). Most of us use Git or SVN.
