todays annoying(and hopefully final) problem
todays annoying(and hopefully final) problem
Its stopped adding things to the repository, why would that be? after a mile long test and countless replays to get the timings and delays right tests are now not even building because items i've set to validate are "not in the repository". Even after deleting the affected lines, setting recording from the line above and re validating they just don't get added. I've ended up having to scrap about 10% of my validation and the future of the script is looking ropey if this keeps up.

Hi,
Thanks in advance.

Ranorex shouldn't stop adding items to your repository. Do you add your items manually or using the Ranorex Recorder? Are you able to rebuild your entire solution? Would it be possible to post us the error message you get?Mozzytm wrote:Its stopped adding things to the repository, why would that be?

Re: todays annoying(and hopefully final) problem
I use the recording functionality. So lets say i'm validating a text element of "Account". I start the app and automate/manually progress to the point where I am validating. At this point I start the recorder and hit the validate button.
I then find the Account in the tree on the validation screen and select to validate that it both exists and states what it should.
On saving it is added to the test as a VALIDATE ATTRIBUTEEQUAL TEXT <MyText> and "Account" is added in the column to the left of comment with a page icon that has blue lines on it.
At this point all seems well, I then try and run the test. At this point I get build errors that line #xxx contains an invalid validation element please ensure it exists in the repository (or words to that effect).
I've tried deleting the validation line and re adding, browsing the item in through spy and adding the whole tree to the repository right from the application root using spy.

Re: todays annoying(and hopefully final) problem
Would it be possible to post or send ([email protected]) us the recording and the repository to this case? Even better would be the entire project. I tried to reproduce it, but it works as expected.
Thanks in advance.
