Tooltip text basic

Post by SanMan » Wed Mar 04, 2015 9:16 am

Ranorex version 5.3.0
OS: WIN7

I have a Calculator shortcut on desktop.

I want to track it's tooltip: "Perform basic arithmetic tasks with an on-screen calculator."

How to do this with Spy?

I tried to
1. Click Track
2. Move to Calculator and hold F12
=> get only ListItem "Calculator"

I would really appreciate step-by-step instructions.

Hi,

Once the tooltip is displayed over the shortcut, press Ctrl + left Win key (Spy must be started). This should refresh the Spy and you should be able to see the tooltip in it...

You can also get it while recording.

Check the 'Enable Hotkeys' option and you'll now see that you can press T to validate a tooltip element.
