Unable to make click on an icon added as RawImage

Post by ziasim » Tue Jun 26, 2018 12:28 pm

Hi All,

I had created scripts of our desktop based application developed in Delphi. Due to technology limitation, I have to add some of the UI elements as raw format to perform mouse click actions and etc. Initially, these scripts were developed using ranorex v6.0.x. At that time scripts were working nicely by using raw images/raw text elements.

Now I am using v8.0 and when tried to run similar scripts, scripts are unable to perform mouse click actions on elements which are added as Raw Image in repository. I tried various things but non worked so far.

A snapshot file having all of those raw images is attached. We don't have any older version of ranorex installed so can't check those scripts on older versions.

We want to upgrade these scripts with some changes but can't run any of the old written script any more:(

Looking forward for some help.

Hi,

I'm afraid, I don't have a clue, what could be the reason of your problem. However, there is a hope for you! Upcoming Ranorex 8.2 implements significantly improved support for Delphi apps, which basically nullifies the need to use RAW-based elements for Delphi controls! So I would suggest you to join the Ranorex beta program, available here...

Of course, you will have to re-record/track the old elements stored in repo as RAW elements. But I think it's a small price for much more reliable element recognition? ;)
