Uninstall License button grayed out

Post by Fergal » Thu Jan 26, 2023 10:49 am

Ranorex 9.3.3 - Windows Server 2016

A Ranorex Node-locked license is installed on a VM and there is also a Floating License installed on the same machine. The license is defaulting to the Node-locked license, even when Floating is checked in the Configure Ranorex License dialog.

I wish to uninstall the Node-locked license and continue using the Floating license. The "Uninstall license" button is grayed out in the Configure Ranorex License dialog. How can the Node-locked license be uninstalled?

Thanks.

Are you opening Studio as Administrator on that VM? If yes, the direct support ticket would be needed. If not yet, then it should enable the button.

Thanks for your reply IvanF. Yes, I generally open it as Administrator. However, even when I open it normally (not as Administrator), the Uninstall License button is still grayed out.

Is it necessary to create a support ticket, to uninstall this node locked license or is there a way I can do it myself?

Thanks again.

You should be able to do it yourself, it's just unclear so far why the button would be greyed out in the Administrator mode (it should be greyed out in non-Admin) - https://www.ranorex.com/help/latest/ran ... a-license/

Maybe there is a priority/hierarchy given multiple licenses where you first need to remove floating, then node, then reinstall floating. But that kind of clarification support would be able to better assist you with.
