I was upgrading from 10.2.2 to 10.5.2. The Ranorex Studio install of the prerequisites failed with an error of 0x80070001 - Incorrect function.
I was still able to install Ranorex but I am not sure if all the prerequisites have been installed and the log file is unclear as to when the error occurred and what it was trying to do, let alone what I am supposed to do to fix it.

Re: Upgrade prerequisites - failed Incorrect function
I would do the following:
Uninstall Ranorex Studio.
Reboot
Reinstall Ranorex Studio.
If issues persist, contact Support -
You had two errors, one was that a system restore point could not be created.
Your other error was as follows, and is what Support will probably want to know, but send them the entire log file just to be safe:

Re: Upgrade prerequisites - failed Incorrect function
I would install Visual Studios 2019 before trying to install 10.5.2. This helped me.
Re: Upgrade prerequisites - failed Incorrect function
I uninstalled Ranorex then re-installed with no issues.

Re: Upgrade prerequisites - failed Incorrect function
I ran into the exact same error during a reinstall of 10.5.2. I uninstalled 10.5.2 after the upgrade from 10.2.2 since Ranorex Studio refused to open any RXSLN file after the upgrade. To be safe I thought to reinstall the prerqequisities and ran into the same issues as the OP.
Edit: Never mind. Installing the latest VS2019 BuildTools from https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/visua ... 19/history solved the issue. Apparently an issue in the Ranorex installer when detecting missing packages.
